About Solomon’s Music
Growing up with a musical dad that often attempted to teach us acoustic guitar, it was inevitable that my brother and I would find music intriguing. In fact, we both learned how to play acoustic guitar. In middle school my brother learned clarinet while I learned drums and bass guitar.
Thankfully for a small school in the early 90’s, we had a fairly robust music program, and many of the students learned a few different instruments to one degree or another. Rather than stick to the directives of the band teacher, some of us gathered outside of school to learn songs we had come to enjoy.
Grunge and metal were on the cutting edge back then, and though I loved Nirvana and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, I had grown up listening to the classics from the 60’s and 70’s. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, a host of other obscure tunes rang across my mother’s radio nearly daily.
Our love for music tied our little group of musical friends together all through high school. We started organizing concerts and writing songs. All the while recording with a good friend who was enrolled in an audio engineering program. Six of us moved to the city, and started touring within a few years. We went from one end of the country to the other, and top to bottom. We had the pleasure of working with world renowned producers and engineers, who first got me started with audio recording and software.
I still love music, and now my wife and I are teaching our kids to love music as well.
That’s why I started SolomonsMusic.net. I grew up with a wide exposure to music; everything from old school pop to the odd and eccentric . With all my many hours, days, and years spent writing, recording, and learning, I wanted to gather all the resources I’ve picked up along the way and bring them here to share on Solomon’s Music.
